The main thing I like about science is the unknown. There is so much we don’t know about the world around us, I think as scientists we are on a mission to find out all we can.
In science there is so much which has already been learnt and the thought of adding to such a great history of science is amazing.

The way you can build on previous knowledge and how it snowballs in to new technology, ideas and cures! You always feel like you’re contributing, like Aimee says- adding to history.

Some science may seem rather simple and have no application, but it just takes someone else to use the idea and have a eureka moment. In that way science can be very creative.

I really like being on the edge of the unknown, and having the possibility of showing everyone new results that are interesting and can change the way we see the world, albeit in a very specialised field. Science is a method, and not a belief, which makes it something you can grasp on to.

Science informs you about the world, and about yourself, and how you and everything fit together and change. What’s not to like?!
