      Different planets are made up of different things

      The four planets closet to the sun (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) are made up of minerals like rocks, minerals, magnesium and aluminium. The dwarf planet Pluto is also made up of this.

      The other planets in the solar system are made of gas, for example Jupiter is made up of trapped helium, hydrogen and water
