This really depends on what you mean by aliens. If you mean little green men from Mars, then I think I will need a lot more evidence to convince me that they exist (also, I am kind of really terrified of aliens so I’d rather not think about them…)

BUT I do believe there will be life elsewhere in the universe. It’s a bit silly given how absolutely massive the universe is to think that we are the only planet that has life on it. We know that life can exist in some really extreme and harsh conditions on Earth (such as at the bottom of the ocean in vents with super high temperatures and lots of poisonous gas dissolved in the water), so why can’t it exist in other extreme places? Whether it will be intelligent life or not, we’ll see, but I at least think there’s some bacteria “out there”!

I agree, there has to be some sort of life out there in the universe. There is almost definitely unintelligent life everywhere in the universe – though we haven’t found it yet. And there is most probably intelligent life – aliens who can think like us or better. The weird thing is we haven’t found any trace of intelligent aliens yet… Maybe they’re hiding from us for whatever reason.

It is expected that any large alien civilisation that has colonised its solar system or galaxy, should release more heat – which we could detect. But nothing has turned up in the heat telescopes.

A very recent theory put forward the idea that the reason we don’t signs of advanced intelligent life out there is because at 4.5 billion years since the universe began, Earth is probably amongst the ‘early-blooming’ planets in the universe to produce intelligent life. This could help explain the silence out there in our stellar neighbourhood.

Arthur C Clarke, famous science fiction author famously said, ‘Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.’

I think that there are aliens out there somewhere, but when you say alien I think of life on other planets, so that could mean plants as well.
The universe is bigger than anybody can believe, with lots of stars, like out sun and lots of planets, some like our own. So maybe somewhere there is a second Earth with the alien you asking this same question!
