I look at the living brains of mice using cool tools, such as laser microscopes, with the aim to understand how human brains work – I guess you could say I’m a zombie-scientist, except I don’t eat the brains!

I’m a metallurgist; I look at how the bits inside metals, that are so small we can’t see with the naked eye, affect the way metal acts and what it can be used for – as you wouldn’t want a skyscraper made from your kitchen foil!
