Bats and dolphins both use the same method of hearing called “echolocation.” This is when they make a high pitch noise (much higher than humans can hear), this then hits an object and bounces back.
The dolphin or bat then is really clever and works out how far way the object is based on how quickly the noise comes back, so it can avoid or eat it!
I don’t know which one would do this the best, but a bat would not do very well in water where the dolphin lives and the dolphin would not get very far in the air where the bat lives. I think they are both amazing at using “echolocation” in the area they live.
