      It depends how big and old the person is, a quick search says that we have 20-30 TRILLION (30,000,000,000,000) red blood cells in an adult body. But they are constantly being lost and produced again.

      It is important to note that there is more than one type of blood cell, the red blood cells are most important for carrying oxygen, but white blood cells are important in fighting infection and platelets are important for clotting your blood when you get cut.
