  Chemists are constantly finding new properties for highly unstable elements. They have predicted the existence of some heavy element in the bottom of the periodic table, but have yet to find some of them experimentally. Work is continuing to show that these elements can be made in the lab and their properties tested. Recently, element 117 was shown to in fact exist, when scientists made it in the lab.
