      Yeah, animals have blood cells! We are animals ourselves and we have many different types of blood cells.

      Other animals that are less related to us than, say, chimps and orangutans also have blood cells but sometimes they can be very different. For example, horseshoe crabs are very ancient animals (and quite disgusting to look at) and they have a single blood cells that does the job of at least two of ours. These cells can make their blood clot and also stop them from getting infections. In humans, this is down to platelets in our blood and also a wide range of immune cells, including that neutrophils that I love 🙂
